About Us
Join us Good Friday morning for an inspirational gathering of faith, civic unity, and community impact.
Mission Statement
We believe in the power of prayer, the value of public service, and the importance of community unity. At the heart of everything we do is a desire to bring people together—regardless of background or beliefs—to uplift one another through faith, servant leadership, and shared purpose. By fostering connection between civic leaders, local churches, and everyday citizens, we hope to create a stronger, more compassionate Whittier community.

History
“Founded in 1965 by local businessman Jack Carmichael, the Whittier Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast has become a longstanding tradition in the city. What began as a simple gathering of faith and leadership has grown into a cherished annual event that brings together community members, civic leaders, and spiritual voices. For decades, it has served as a space to reflect, connect, and inspire hope for the future of Whittier.
